Iyom Women’s Bracelet

Iyom is a title, a woman’s title. The highest title a woman can receive in Igbo land. Women held titles in Igbo land before the arrival of western colonizers. There was balance between men and women, and women often were seen as the earthly manifestation of Mother Earth, and often judged taboos in the land.
