THIS MONTH IN HISTORY
In May 1995, Ghanaian entrepreneur, Esther Afua Ocloo, was honored by Women’s World Banking in Ghana, a global micro-lending organization that she cofounded.
Esther promoted the availability of credit given to women, and used small loans known as micro-credit to aid their ability to found businesses. Providing these loans to women helped women provide for their families and develop their families.
This organization helps women in 29 countries to receive small loans to start their businesses who would’ve otherwise not received loans from other banks.
We celebrate Esther Ocloo and what she has done for women around the world!
