EVENT FEATURE FRIDAY

Today’s event features are dedicated to the prayer vigils and protests that are happening in honor of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile. As we unite, we will rise above injustice. Love you all.

PRAYER WALK- WASHINGTON, DC

In light of recent national headlines, we are calling all believers to rise up and pray for Black lives in this city, our justice system, and the lives of those recently lost to violence in Baton Rouge, Minnesota, and Dallas. Meet us at the Portrait Gallery in Washington, DC at 2:30pm, we’ll split into groups of 2 or 3 and walk around the Chinatown/Gallery Place area. We’ll reconvene at 3:30pm at the portrait gallery to corporately pray and dismiss.

BEYOND THE HASHTAG: A CALL TO ACTION AND PRAYER VIGIL FOR ALTON STERLING AND PHILANDO CASTILE- WASHINGTON, DC

There will be A Call to Action and Prayer Vigil for Alton Sterling and Philando Castile this Sunday, July 10, 2016 at 5:00 PM at the African American Civil War Memorial (directly across the street from the U Street Metro) in Washington DC. The emphasis is ACTION…we are calling all social justice advocates and the like to come together proposing solutions to end the genocide of African Americans within each individuals’/organizations’ respective platforms.

JUSTICE FOR ALTON STERLING PROTEST-ATLANTA, GA

The American Constitution at Georgia State University’s College of Law are organizing a rally to memorialize Sterling and Philando at 7 p.m. EST on Sunday, July 10 in Centennial Olympic Park.
#JusticeForAltonSterling Protest rally being held at the Baton Rouge Police Department (4445 Plank Road). Planned to begin at 4 p.m CDT.


CANDLELIGHT VIGIL – MINNESOTA

The Twin Ports-based Justice City Coalition has organized candlelight vigils and protests Friday, July 15, at 7 p.m. CDT. The events will be held at local city halls in the wake of the fatal shooting of Philando Castile and other recent officer-involved shootings of minorities.
